This summer Anthony Randolph was supposed to be the best thing since the Internet (I’m over the fact we have sliced bread) in ’09-10 and somehow that all died on the table — or rather bench, that Nellie has had Randolph glued to all season long. So is it a good thing the Warriors are putting him on the trading block to get regular minutes with a better team??? I’ll ask you this, “Does the Pope sh!t in the woods?”
Golden State once exalted Randolph as the face of the young, promising core around which the franchise was to be built. But in just under a season and two months, Randolph has gone from possible draft-day coup to the Warriors’ latest trade bait.
One team source said the Warriors aren’t necessarily looking to get rid of Randolph but are willing to trade him if doing so would improve the team. That’s what happens when you’re 7-17 and have lost seven of your past eight games — the last defeat being to a team, the Philadelphia 76ers, riding a 12-game skid.
At this point in his career Anthony Randolph is at best a poor mans Chris Bosh, but under the current Nellie regime Randolph will probably never get the minutes he needs to make an impact. Based on that, him getting traded would be the best Christmas gift the Warriors could give him.
