The Dallas Mavericks have performed about as expected on offense. Thanks to the additions of Jameer Nelson, Chandler Parsons and Tyson Chandler, the team has been as balanced as ever, impressing as the NBA’s third best scoring offense early in the season.
Their efforts on defense haven’t been quite as good, but everyone in Dallas knew that side of things would be a work in progress. The good news is that the Mavs are above .500 and look like a legit contender to make a run in the playoffs – and that’s just right now.
With an eye on getting even better as the season wears on, Dirk Nowitzki and co. could end up being a formidable presence come playoff time. Let’s track their progress as we break down their cheapest and most expensive games left in November:
Cheapest – @ Washington Wizards (11/19/14) | Avg: $51.11 | Get-in: $5
Dallas Mavericks tickets are priced ridiculously low for this matchup with the Wizards, especially considering both of these teams boast superstars. Both teams are also serious playoff contenders and will battle in a game that could be high-scoring and go down to the wire.
Dallas could be in for a fight on the road, but Washington hasn’t been necessarily elite offensively this year. Obviously not overpowering anyone on defense right now, the Mavs will have to try to run the Wiz out of their own gym if they want to steal a tough road win. Whatever happens, barely over $50 is an insane value for any contest featuring Dirk Nowitzki and John Wall.
Most Expensive – @ Houston Rockets (11/22/14) | Avg: $189.17 | Get-in: $36
Chandler Parsons returns to Houston to take on his former team in late November, in what comes in as the most expensive game for Dallas this month. It’s a huge matchup even aside from Parsons’ own revenge agenda, as Houston is arguably the best team in the Western Conference right now.
This also happens to be an inner-Texas battle that fans from both sides will be able to appreciate, while the star power James Harden and Dwight Howard have to offer is tough to match. Considering all of that, $189 is a terrific deal for Houston Rockets tickets.
Dallas could steal this one, but it should be a much tougher battle than their matchup with the Wizards. The Rockets have proven to be one of the more suffocating defenses in the league early in the year, while their offense can run with anyone. Dallas will have to be on top of their game to get a big win in Houston.
