SLAM magazine reaches into the vault for inspiration to recreate the famous November 1996 “Ready or not..here they come!” cover featuring the original lineup, from left to right: Marcus Camby, Ray Allen, Stephon Marbury, Kobe Bryant, Shareef Abdur-Rahim, Jermaine O’Neal, Kerry Kittles, Steve Nash, John Wallace, Antoine Walker, Samaki Walker.
The new cover of course features a majority of the best prospects for the 2014 NBA Draft highlighted by Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker and Joel Embiid. If this class produces as many future hall of fame players as the 1996 class does, it would be an amazing feat. Let’s check back in about 7 years.
