The good news for the Dallas Mavericks was their all-time leading scorer Dirk Nowitzki finally returned to action from arthroscopic surgery on his right knee. In 20 minutes of work off the bench against the Spurs, Nowitzki scored 8 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and had a steal.
“Before the game I felt decent, so I said I’m going to give it a go,” Nowitzki said. “I felt actually good out there. I thought the wind was OK, but my legs were a little heavy there after a couple of trips up and down but I thought I fought through it OK.”
On to the bad news.
In a drubbing similar to the one they received at the hands of the Heat. The Spurs embarrassed the Mavs 129-81 on the strenght of a franchise record 20 3-pointers.
