To throw a pitch in a big league baseball park, all a seven-foot German basketball player has to do is win a NBA title. Dirk Nowitzki won a title two weeks ago, and he was born in Germany — so the table was set for Dirk to bring his high (and I do mean high) heat to the Texas Rangers mound that was once home to pitching great Nolan Ryan.
However Dirk didn’t channel any fiber of Ryan’s pitching essence and he almost threw the ball out of the stadium. Holger Geschwindner and Dirk should really work on his delivery this summer. In their spare time, of course.
