Founder Dr. Barry Katz and former NBA All Star John Starks teamed up to create the Ektio Wraptor to prevent ankle sprains, largely because “Spraining Your Ankle Is F’d Up.” The Ektio Wraptor is an advanced mobility-enabled basketball shoe with cut-back ankle in action leather with perforated leather underlays and quilted stitching.
Two support straps are integrated into the wall of the shoe and cross over the top of the ankle with hook-and-loop closures.
Both the inner and outer straps work together to “marry” the foot to the shoe. One strap anchors the foot to the shoe and the second strap specifically supports the lateral ligaments of the ankle.
