Rockets Retain Scola And Lowry

Two important pieces of the Rockets gritty style of play, will be back to put in work. According to the Houston Chronicle, starting power forward Luis Scola will receive a reported five-year deal worth a $47 million to stay put in Houston. And defensive minded Kyle Lowry will receive a three-year deal worth $24 million with an option for a 4th year, to keep it things Rocketing.

“I feel great. I feel great,” Scola, 30, said. “I’m going to be in the place I wanted to be. I’m so happy.”

Scola has been an iron man since entering the league, never missed a game due to injury in his career. Last season Scola averaged 16.2 points and 8.6 rebounds. Coming off the bench, last year Lowry finished with averages of 9.1 points, 4.5 assists, and 3.6 rebounds per game.

Lowry was signed to an offer sheet by the Cavaliers, but the Rockets matched that offer to keep him in Houston the exact same day.
