This Nate Robinson story just keeps on getting better and better.
Knick star Nate Robinson blasted rap music and got belligerent with a cop who stopped his SUV, then tried to use his hoop-player status to avoid being arrested, sources said yesterday. Robinson, 25, was pulled over in The Bronx Tuesday for driving with an unfastened seat belt. Sources said he cranked up a rap song when the cop walked off to check his license, and then sang along when the officer returned. But Robinson changed his tune when told he was being arrested for driving with a suspended license. “Well, I’m Nate Robinson from theKnicks,” sputtered the player, the sources said.
I won’t lie, I’d pull the same “kind of a big deal card” too if I already had some reckless driving charges all on my back because paying high risk insurance rates just ain’t my bag. But if I was a millionaire, I don’t think paying a few extra thousand per month would cripple my bank account.
Then again, maybe Nate Robinson blew all his NBA money on custom designed lime green Kryptonate jerseys.
