The Magic and unrestricted free agent Brandon Bass agreed to a four-year deal worth $18 million, an NBA source confirmed. The contract gives Bass the option to opt out after the 2012 season.
Bass, who runs the floor well and shoots the ball well, averaged 8.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game last season with the Dallas Mavericks. The 6-foot-8, 240-pound power forward was one of the Magic’s top targets in free agency this off-season, and his presence could allow Rashard Lewis to shift occasionally from power forward to small forward, Lewis’ natural position.
