Wesley Matthews was on fire against the Wizards, nailing a career-high 10 three-pointers to help the Mavericks cruise to a much-needed win on the road.
“Our whole team was due for a shot-making night and Wes led the way,” coach Rick Carlisle said. “He’s had a rough go of it here. We all kept encouraging him and we have a lot of confidence in him. What he’s doing is extremely difficult, coming back from that injury on this timetable, it’s hard. And hard things are hard. It’s just the truth.
“He’s just got to keep staying the course and seeing the light because at the end of this process, he’s going to be a better player than he was when he went down last March. I’m certain of it.”
