Kevin Durant Wins NBA MVP Award

No more second place trophies. In addition to winning his fourth scoring title in five years averaging 32 points per game this season. Today Kevin Durant was officially named NBA MVP.

“I’ve always been a player that was excited for my teammates’ success,” Durant said. “Not just mine, but my teammates’ as well. Wanting to see them do well translates to my game, which is wanting to pass the ball and seeing my teammates reap the benefits.”

Durant led the Thunder to the second best overall record in the league mostly without Russell Westbrook who was recovering from injury. LeBron James and Blake Griffin finished 2nd and 3rd respectively in the MVP voting.
