When Kareem Abdul-Jabbar scored on a skyhook (of course), against the then Kansas City Kings in a game played in Las Vegas on April 5, 1985. He surpassed the great Wilt Chamberlain to become the NBA All-Time scoring list leader with 31,420 points. Of the skyhook, Abdul-Jabbar said:
“It was the only shot I could shoot that didn’t get smashed back in my face,” Abdul-Jabbar said. “So I learned to rely on it early, and it was always something that I could get off, even in traffic.”
Second on the all-time scoring list is Karl Malone (36,928 pts) while Michael Jordan sits at third (32,292 pts).
