Previous to the official global launch of the Nike Kobe 9 Elite ‘Masterpiece’ today. Spatial design firm Denton-Cardew Design were hired by Nike Basketball to highlight the Flyknit technology used and to also bring it to life as a true masterpiece.
Woolen black, gold and white thread was strung around a central ring to draw the eye, and to also help frame the shoe which floated in place, illustrating its lightness. The shoe was then framed by a floating of the wall with hand carved gold trim. The string piece was the central element within the gallery style exhibition at the STAPLES Center Nike Vault.
