While everyone was hoping the torn meniscus injury Derrick Rose suffered over the weekend was of the Metta World Peace “Too Sexy for His Cat” back to action within a few days variety. It appears to be of the missing the entire season variety. Bummer.
“We’re hoping for the best,” Thibodeau said. “We, of course, feel very badly for Derrick. I talked to him at length (Saturday) night. He’s in good spirits, about as well as can be expected under the circumstances. And he’s already thinking about his rehab. Typical Derrick, he’s concerned about his team, his teammates. He’s such a great teammate along with being a great player. That being said, we can’t feel sorry for ourselves.”
Recovery time for the type of surgery Rose had which involved his meniscus being reattached. Can take between 4-6 months at best, but judging by the picture he took with a nurse after his surgery was complete. He appears to be in good spirits. So just 11 games into his comeback, his season is again over. I wish you all the best in your recovery D.Rose!
