A few days after purchasing the Washington Wizards, new owner Ted Leonsis expressed his desire to return back to the red, white and blue colorway of the Bullets from days past.
Yesterday, with the help of adidas. That desire became a reality with the unveiling of the Wizards newly created duds that look like the old Bullets uniforms chopped and screwed. Me likey!
“Being from the Washington, D.C., area, this was a point of pride to be a part of this project,” said adidas designer Leon Imas, adding that when the Wizards presented their proposal to Adidas, they asked the company to “celebrate the city, celebrate the heritage and give us something fun, young and modern.”
The new uniforms make more sense than than the Wizards actually being called the Wizards, and the new old colorway is a slam dunk. You can cop some new Wiz gear at the NBA store right now, for next season. Just don’t expect more wins to match them.
