Sunday evening the Boston Celtics officially announced the signing of veteran point guard Carlos Arroyo who was waived by the Miami Heat to make room for free agent Mike Bibby.
Arroyo started 42 games for Miami, averaging 5.6 points, 1.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. While shooting a career-high 43.8% from three-point range. In his 42 starts he has averaged 6.4 points, 2.2 assists and has shot 45.9% from beyond the arc. In his ninth NBA season, Arroyo owns career averages of 6.7 points and 3.1 assists per game.
If the Celtics and Heat meet up in the playoffs, the underlying storylines are going to be ridiculous. Just to spice things up a tad more, maybe the C’s should sign Dan Gilbert to a 10-day contract just incase these two teams meet up in the second round. What??? It could happen.
