Holy collectibles Batman played by Michael Keaton! Over the weekend in the southern Chinese city of Macau, a basketball autographed by Michael Jordan and Michael Jackson sold for $294,000 U.S. at an auction to an anonymous American online bidder named “Jam”. Originally the basketball — used in the 1992 music video “Jam” had a pre-sale estimate of $600.
In total, more than $1 million U.S. was racked in for Michael Jackson memorabilia. Other items auctioned were a black crystal-studded glove Jackson wore in 1995 that fetched $180,000 U.S. and one of the red zipper jackets you wanted as a kid that Jackson wore in the Beat It video that garnered $156,000 U.S.
Other celebrity items up for sale included sneakers worn by Bruce Lee, a Madonna costume, a Marilyn Monroe black lace bra and the Batman costume Michael Keaton wore in “Batman Returns” and let me tell you, it fits great.
