76ers Hire Doug Collins As Head Coach

Doug Collins coaching rumors are a prime staple of NBA off-season news, but that my friend is no more.

The Philadelphia 76ers have agreed to terms with Collins to become their new coach filling the void left by fired Eddie Jordan and an official announcement will likely happen later today.

The deal is rumored to be a four-year pact and should present a serious challenge for Collins to turn things around in the city of brotherly love. Before becoming the John Madden of NBA broadcasts, Collins coached Chicago, Detroit and Washington finishing with an combined record of 332-287.

As a player, Collins was selected by the 76ers with the first overall pick in the 1973 draft and went on to play eight seasons in Philly.
