Back in November, the NBA fined Dwight Howard $15K for comments regarding officials through his blog.
Since that time, the officiating has only gotten worse and after being plagued by foul issues all series long against the Bobcats. D12 decide another post was needed regarding the officials being so darn lousy and I guess David Stern subscribes to his super RSS feed because today Howard got super fined $35K.
“Ya’ll know that series against Charlotte drove me crazy. I mean, it was almost comical at times how I was getting fouls called on me. There was nothing I could do out there and I felt like I couldn’t move without getting that whistle blown on me,” Howard said. I’m not looking to say anything to get myself in trouble with the league, but I just don’t see other star players getting called for fouls the way I get them. No star player in the league is outta games the way I am. I even talked to Patrick Ewing about his career and he said he never had foul trouble like what I’m going through.”
Howard also called the series with Charlotte “the most frustrating stretch of his career”. But for whatever reason, the officiating seems especially bad these days so, I’m sure it’s nothing personal between the refs and Howard — yet.
