A few days ago, Nets CEO Brett Yormark got into a shouting match with a New Jersey Nets fan wearing a bag over his head and then issued this statement.
“Our fans have been great and they’ve stuck with us through a tough season,” Yormark says in the statement. “I did not agree with the way this person expressed his opinion of our team last night and I let him know. It’s been a frustrating season for all of us, but I will continue to stand up for our players, our fans, and our organization. We have an exciting future ahead and we appreciate all of our fans’ support.â€
So yesterday when the Sacramento Kings visited New Jersey, Yorkmark showed Jersey fans some appreciation by offering them a “Bag Exchangeâ€.
That’s right, all fans in attendance that arrived with a paper bag of shame were offered the opportunity to trade their bag for a nylon bag with the Nets logo on it, and a note from Yormark himself. That read, “Thanks for letting us see your face, we hope we see it more often at Nets games – Regards, Brett Yormark.â€
The nylon bag also included trading cards. Now I haven’t seen this bag myself, but I’m guessing it could easily carry all of the Nets wins this season.
