It is now signed sealed and delivered with proof of the press conference and Michael Jordan is the first former player to become a majority owner of a NBA franchise after he purchased the Charlotte Bobcats from Bob Johnson for an estimated cool $275 million.
“If you had asked me 5, 10 years ago if I would be here with the opportunity to own a basketball team, I would have never believed it, Jordan said at Time Warner Cable Arena. Yet it’s a dream come true for me. I just want the city to experience what winning is all about.”
The Bobcats have lost $100 million under Bob Johnson, and Jordan hopes to turn that around to save NBA basketball in North Carolina.
