The Heat’s attempt to persuade Dwyane Wade to commit long-term to the franchise officially began Sunday when team president Pat Riley sent Wade a text message at 12:01 a.m. — the first minute Wade became eligible to sign an extension. The Heat said it offered Wade the maximum three-year extension (worth more than $60 million), a deal that would run through the 2013-14 season and extend his contract beyond the $15.8 million he is due next season and the $17.1 million he is due in 2010-11. Wade said Sunday that he, Riley and owner Micky Arison haven’t scheduled a meeting but would get together soon.
