Terrence Had No Chance

Crew chief Steve Kerr is hell bent on driving the McLaren Mercedes that is the Phoenix Suns, about 40 under the limit and that’s all Terry Porter did as the driver. However, today Terry Porter was fired four months into doing exactly what Steve Kerr asked him to do.

“I hired Terry because I believed he would be able to provide the balance our team needed in order to perform at a very high level,” Suns general manager Steve Kerr said in a statement Monday.

“Unfortunately the transition from last season to this one proved to be very difficult, and we have not played to our potential. It’s imperative that we move forward.”

Sure a 28-23 record in the western conference won’t do you any favors to keep a job, but c’mon! Porter really had no chance. Alvin Gentry was named the Suns replacement but, until Steve Kerr coaches this team himself or gets the right pieces to play his slow down style.

Expect the next Suns coach on the horizon to crash too.

  1. Just another recycled NBA coach

Gentry will probably be there until the end of the season, and then they’ll be a complete overhaul in Phoenix
