“Stephon Marbury’s tenure with the Knicks remains shaky at best, but it appears that he will be with the team for at least another week. “He’s coming to training camp,” Donnie Walsh, the team president, said Tuesday night. It was the most forceful declaration that Walsh has made on the subject, and it came in the wake of a report by Newsday that Marbury would be waived by the end of this week. The newspaper, citing anonymous sources, reported that the Knicks would try to negotiate a buyout of the final year of Marbury’s contract. He is due $21.9 million this season.”
