For the first time since having season-ending injury and surgery. Russell Westbrook met with the OKC media today. Westbrook talked about what it’s like to watch his teammates in the Playoffs and the support he has received from the Thunder and its fans. Oh yeah, he still thinks the Thunder can win it all.

“I think we have a tough group of guys finding a way to win games. The group of guys we have, I think we have enough to get a ring,” Westbrook said. “In my honest opinion, we’ve been together long enough to be able to figure things out when guys go down, and I think you can see that.”

After Russell Westbrook tweaked his knee on a kinda reckless play by Patrick Beverly in Game 2. He was pretty much fuelled out of anger to exploded for 29 points, sparked by Beverly’s opportunistic and questionable steal attempt that left him hobbled. The game ended, OKC won and everything seemed fine. Flash forward to a day before the Thunder take on the Rockets in Houston for Game 3, and Westbrook will be out indefinitely for the playoffs with a torn meniscus. WTF! These playoff injury gods are thirsty.

Russell Westbrook graces the very colourful front of Rivista Ufficiale NBA from Italy for their interview issue out in May. This is easily one of the coolest basketball magazine covers I’ve seen in a longtime. Props to designer Francesco Poroli for creating it.

After Russell Westbrook ate the Rockets and their bones like that KFC commercial my wife loves in Game 1. The premier fashion dude of the league rocked a hoodie with cutoff sleeves, transparent glasses (sans lenses) and a gold chain to his postgame press conference. I share this information with you because you care. Expect more Westbrook fashion updates as the playoffs progress.

Paper magazine just released their 16th Annual Beautiful People issue which features 43 people who are changing the world. The list is comprised of various artists, actors, designers, musicians, and one basketball player — Russell Westbrook.

Inside the magazine Westbrook discusses about his flamboyant choice of bright colors and bold patterns that define his style. Saying that he “just goes with what he likes”. He also talks about unwinding with Taylor Swift’s Red.

“I listen to the album, I buy the album, and then next thing you know it’s on my playlist!”

At this rate, I expect to see Westbrook in iD, Vogue and in a Bill Cunningham piece for the New York Times before 2014 ends. I dare you to bet against me.
