LeBron James throws down a mammoth reverse jam on the 76ers after taking a week off due to a sore ankle. 23 points, 10 assist, 6 rebounds, 3 blocks and a steal later — it’s safe to say the King is officially back.

Ilgauskas Chooses Return To Cleveland

Hooped Up | March 5, 2010

This shouldn’t even qualify as news, but it looks like Zydrunas Ilgauskas — will return to the Cleveland Cavaliers. How shocking that this would occur, it’s like the Cavs and Big Z planned it all along, or something.

“It is Zydrunas’ desire to return to the Cavaliers if a suitable contract can be agreed upon,” Rudoy said in an e-mail to reporters. “He has been overwhelmed and deeply touched by the outpouring of support and affection by the fans and by his teammates. He hopes to return to bring a championship to the Cavaliers and to the city of Cleveland.”

According to the Plain Dealer, Žydrūnas Ilgauskas and his agent Herb Rudoy will start the cozy negotiations with the Cavs on March 22,  which according to “the rules” is the first date they can do so.

More importantly, I can finally play this.

Homer News: Cleveland Cavaliers (47-14)

Hooped Up | March 2, 2010

Cleveland Cavaliers deliver a thorough throttling of the ‘wait ’til next year’ Knicks, 124-93
Ultimately salary cap space doesn’t show up in the box score. That’s a lesson that the Knicks have been swallowing just about every night for the last two years and they took it again Monday night one more time from a team they would dearly love to plunder. Looking like a collection of guys playing out the string of their contracts, the New York Knicks were throttled by the Cavs, 124-93.

It was a three-game season series sweep for the Cavs (47-14), who collected their fourth straight win and eighth in row against the Knicks (20-39) dating back two seasons.

LeBron James went jackin’ for blocks against the Orlando Magic and not even Dwight Howard’s low-post beat game was anti-gaffle proof when LBJ decided to say “Give me dat ball fool!”

Who else is staring to see parallels between LeBron James versus the Orlando Magic and Michael Jordan versus the Detroit Pistons?

The Science Of A Lebron James Dunk

Hooped Up | February 22, 2010

You don’t have to be a scientist to figure out that you don’t want to get in the way of a LeBron James dunk, but if you are like John Brenkus and figure out that LeBron generates 700 lbs of force during take off to lift his 250 lbs frame, his arm can move as fast as a Chinook helicopter blade and if he converted his vertical arm movement (54 mph) into a horizontal punch he would be able to hit harder than Mike Tyson in his prime. Basically, never jump in front of this train with a headband if you value your life and limbs.

Using the dunk LeBron James had on Kevin Garnett during Game 4 of the 2008 Cavs vs. Celtics contest as the beaker / poster, see the science behind “The King” crowning KG, after the jump.

Outlet Pass: Dirk Starts, Salary Cuts + Fred Schaus

Hooped Up | February 12, 2010

Denver Nuggets coach George Karl has informed league officials that he plans to start Dirk Nowitzki for the West in place of the injured Kobe Bryant in Sunday’s All-Star Game, sources told ESPN.com.

Sources close to the situation confirmed that Karl — who is not scheduled to arrive in Dallas until Friday with the Nuggets playing host Thursday night to the Spurs — will move Nowitzki from the hometown Mavericks into the starting lineup even though he’s obviously not a guard.
