Josh Smith Touching Mike Bibby

Hooped Up | March 17, 2010

Josh Smith believes that not only is Mike Bibby the starting point guard for the Atlanta Hawks, but he is also the team Genie lamp.

At the (0:10) mark, Bibby physically reminds Smith that everybody on the squad only gets three wishes and he’s reached his wish maximum.

Maurice Evans Catches Over The Glass Fever

Hooped Up | March 2, 2010

If you can see this, then you might need a Flash Player upgrade or you need to install Flash Player if it's missing. Get Flash Player from Adobe.

I have never seen more over the glass shots in one season in my entire life. It seems like Larry Bird did it back in the short-shorts era against the Hawks and then all of a sudden going over the glass is a shot that is always in stock.

This week, Maurice Evans showed off his standard shot bag and nails the “trick shot”  fading away. I can’t wait till the off-season begins and some sans-NBA deprived joker tries to make the argument that backboards should be higher and rims should be 12″. It’ll be good times, stupid — but good times.

Jamal Crawford scored 28 points, including fourth 3-pointers in the fourth quarter that helped the Atlanta Hawks pull away from the Memphis Grizzlies for a 108-94 victory Tuesday night. Crawford scored 14 points in the final period, and on 5 of 7 from 3-point range in the game.

Josh Smith added 17 for the Hawks and Marvin Williams and Al Horford scored 15 each as Atlanta snapped a three-game road losing steak.

All-Star Zach Randolph had 20 points and 14 rebounds for Memphis, which enters the All-Star break on a four-game losing steak. Rudy Gay had 18 for the Grizzlies and O.J. Mayo finished with 16.

Mike Woodson Shaved His Eyebrows

Hooped Up | January 26, 2010

Before the Hawks took the floor against the Rockets, Arthur Triche (@hawksPRman) tweeted “Before you’re shocked tonight, Hawks head coach Mike Woodson is minus his eyebrows tonight…don’t ask me why…LOL!” with the above picture linked.

Even with the advanced warning, I gotta say I was still shocked — and very amused. So far, no word on Mike Woodson’s Uncle Leo inspired look, but you gotta admit he looks way better than Mr. Potato Head.

Joe Smith Spits Hot Gametime Fire

Hooped Up | January 7, 2010

Joe Smith worthy news is about as rare as a facial from Juwan Howard. So since earlier this week said facial occurred, it’s only right that we get a Joe Smith update.

If you haven’t check your NBA baller weather report lately, apparently Joe Smith is one of the best rappers in the NBA and he now spits his hot fire over the PA system when the Atlanta Hawks take the court at Philips Arena. I hope the Hawks are playing some Zaza Pachulia tracks during practice to boost his mad Georgian flow too.

Get some flame retardant ear phones and peep the hot fire Joe Beast spits here.

Say word son!

16 Bars Of Zaza Pachulia Son

Hooped Up | December 7, 2009

Zaza Pachulia (who is of course your favorite Pachulia), apparently moonlights as a rapper in his native Georgia and you just gotta hear this to believe it. This is turbo awesome because the last thing I thought I would hear today was Zaza Pachulia spitting 16 bars in Georgian over gun shots and sirens. Yet, here it is.

Mad Georgian lyrics after the jump yo!

Former A-Town Dancer Turned Love Ninja

Hooped Up | November 26, 2009

Being a cheerleader in the NBA can take you to many exiting new places like China, England Mexico or the adult industry. Wha??? Four months after her contract ended with the Atlanta Hawks as a dancer, Briana who’s stage name is now Brandy Blair signed up with a studio to do love ninja flicks.

“I’ve always been pretty open minded,” said Blair, “even though I had always been reserved sexually, I thought I’d give it a try.”

Blair continued, “I had never even posed nude before, and all of the sudden I saw this whole other side of myself that I had never seen. It has been a very liberating experience.”

Well you know what they say, if you find a job you love, you’ll never have to work a day in your life…

More Briana pics after the jump.

Bibby Day-To-Day With Sprained Ankle

Hooped Up | November 23, 2009

Hawks guard Mike Bibby’s sprained left ankle is very sore, but he is “day to day,” team spokesman Arthur Triche said Sunday.

Bibby was injured in the the first quarter and played just five minutes of the Hawks’ 96-88 loss to New Orleans Saturday night. The loss broke the Hawks’ seven-game winning streak.

The Hawks’ next game is Thanksgiving night at home against Orlando.

Served: A Game Winner Gets Got By Josh Smith

Hooped Up | November 21, 2009

If you can see this, then you might need a Flash Player upgrade or you need to install Flash Player if it's missing. Get Flash Player from Adobe.

If you don’t like the way the 11-2 Atlanta Hawks are playing right now, you don’t like NBA basketball. With the game on the line against the scrappy Rockets, Josh Smith cleans up a shot from Mike Bibby with a dunk to sink Houston. Yeah, the kid can play!

Like I said in the season preview with the help of Kanye, this squad is only getting stronger.
