Andrew Wiggins Drops 27 on the Cavs

Feeling like he needed to show Cleveland what they missed out on. Minnesota Timberwolves rookie Andrew Wiggins put on a show in a losing effort, scoring 27 points.

“He was pretty excited,” said Saunders, who could only tell through Wiggins’ play and not his expressions. “I thought he played probably his best. He has had some good games but considering the competition and considering the situation coming in here and everything, I thought he played very well.”

Wiggins was excited to play in Cleveland.

“I was,” Wiggins said. “I think it’s obvious. This is a motivation game for me. I’m a competitor so it’s fun for me. I’m sure it’s fun for him [James] and fun for fans to see. He’s one of the best players in the league, so I think I learned a lot. He can score in a lot of different ways and impact the game a lot of different ways.”

Matched up with LeBron James, the 19-year-old held his own outscoring James by three points on the way to notching his fifth 20+ point game of the season.
