Lakers Hire Mike D’Antoni

The Pringles moustache is back! Amidst all the Phil Jackson rumours of him coming back to coach the franchise he won 5 championships with in LA.

The Lakers hired Mike D’Antoni as their new head coach to replace Mike Brown. D’Antoni agreed to a three-year deal with a team option for a fourth season.

Apparently negotiations broke down with former Lakers coach Phil Jackson. The 11-time NBA champion coach met with Lakers owners Jerry and Jim Buss and general manager Mitch Kupchak on Saturday to discuss a return for a third stint on Los Angeles’ bench.

This definitely comes as good news to injured Steve Nash who won two MVP awards back-to-back during five seasons in Phoenix playing under D’Antoni and his seven seconds or less offense.

Kobe Bryant will also have some warm and fuzz feelings about the move as heidolized D’Antoni while growing up in Italy, where D’Antoni was a star player for Olimpia Milano in the Italian pro league. The Lake Show is back.
