Wolf Moon Miller Drops 52 Points

Hooped Up | January 31, 2010

If you can see this, then you might need a Flash Player upgrade or you need to install Flash Player if it's missing. Get Flash Player from Adobe.

Weird things always happen when it’s a full moon. Refereed to as the wolf moon in Native American culture, yesterday was the first full moon of 2010 and it was 30% brighter and 14% larger than any other moon we’ll see in 2010. In fact it was so bright that you could actually see Mars.

Last night, Andre Miller was also larger and brighter taking full advantage of the wolf moon by dropping 24% more points than he’s averaged season, netting a hairy career-high 52 points in a win against the Mavs 114-112.

Since I doubt that Miller will eclipse this career-high to blow this correlation.  From now on, Andre Miller’s new nickname to me will be Wolf Moon.

Respect his game and his mane.

Swat: Kevin Durant One Shoe, Zero Basket

If you can see this, then you might need a Flash Player upgrade or you need to install Flash Player if it's missing. Get Flash Player from Adobe.

If watching Kevin Durant block Arron Afflalo with only one shoe on, still doesn’t turn your crank because you’re demanding like my 10th grade teacher. Surely the dramatic music accompanying this Durant feat,  should send you over the top with NBA excitement.

KD is officially the best one sneaker defender in the league, you’ve been warned Ron-Ron.

Served: A Few Duhon Alley Oops Get Got

Hooped Up | January 29, 2010

If you can see this, then you might need a Flash Player upgrade or you need to install Flash Player if it's missing. Get Flash Player from Adobe.

These days Chris Duhon couldn’t hit the side of a red barn with a tractor. It’s a good thing his passing game doesn’t need to much realignment like his shot. Both of these alley oops to Nate Robinson and Wilson Chandler were kinda live.

See Nate Robinson slam below.

Jeffries And Harrington Listed As Questionable

Hooped Up | January 29, 2010

Jared Jeffries did not play in the second half due to a lingering right knee problem, and Al Harrington was also limping noticeably afterward due to chronic left knee soreness. Both are scheduled for MRIs this morning, and their status for tomorrow’s game in Washington is unknown.

Jeffries, who has been the Knicks’ best defensive player, said he was in considerable pain but is also hopeful he will not miss much time, if any. Harrington revealed that he has been playing with his condition for nearly six weeks and believes his sore knee prevented him from getting enough lift when he missed two driving layups in the last 58.9 seconds.

Freshly Dipped: New Balance P790LK

Hooped Up | January 29, 2010

Up until now, Freshly Dipped has never featured any products from New Balance, but that’s about to change with the reloaded release of the classic New Balance P790LK.

Worn by one of my favorite players of all-time James “Big Game” Worthy, the P790LK looks like a true 80’s joint in a Lakers colorway so don’t be surprised if your uncle that grew up with Showtime and has the same size feet as you, “borrows them” for an extended period of time. Watch out nephew!

More looks at New Balance P790LK below.

To help millions of people already dying from AIDS in Africa live dramatically longer and fuller lives, you can make a difference by lacing up with (NIKE)RED shoe laces. It’s that easy.

Soccer fan Kobe Bryant along with soccer stars Didier Drogba, Andrei Arshavin, Clint Dempsey, Denilson, Marco Materazzi, Javier Mascherano, Fabio Cannavaro, and tennis star Maria Sharapova want to encourage fans globally to “Lace Up Save Lives.”

Beasley Could Miss Two Games

Hooped Up | January 29, 2010

The knee injury that knocked Michael Beasley out of Wednesday’s loss at Toronto might sideline the Heat’s power forward for the rest of the trip.

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said Thursday the team’s medical staff considered sending Beasley to Miami but decided to keep him along in hopes he might soon return.

Beasley hyperextended his right knee in the first quarter against the Raptors and is doubtful for Friday’s game against the Pistons. He hopes to play Saturday against Milwaukee to close out the Heat’s three-game trip.

Swat: Dwight Howard Tells Davis Hell Naw

Glen Davis what were you thinking? Getting blocked it one thing, having a defender pin and wipe your offering on the glass is another. This ball was a round orange shammy.

I’ve seen babies take it to the rim harder “Big Baby”.

Outlet: Suns TNT Win, West Trial Delayed + Orlando

Hooped Up | January 29, 2010

Phoenix brought back all its forgotten good qualities to beat another top team, the Dallas Mavericks, by a 112-106 score Thursday night at US Airways Center and added a new wrinkle – benching forward Amar’e Stoudemire for the entire fourth quarter.

Stoudemire’s night ended after three quarters and with a team-high 22 points and season-low one rebound (off his own miss). He turned into a cheerleader as the Suns showed rare closing power with their best defensive fourth quarter since Nov. 4 to finally end an 18-game losing streak in games broadcast by TNT.
