Bulls pivot Joakim Noah was officially named the Defensive Player of the Year today and he also unofficially won the Family Picture of the Year award too. Known for sharing the spotlight, Noah took this picture with a bulk of his large family who provided one of the most naturally cool group shots featuring different generations of one family the league has ever seen. The thanks he gave his Mom and Dad was equally awesome.
“Dad,” Joakim began, “I just want to tell you you’ve always been there for me. I appreciate you so much. All the work ethic comes from you. Mom, seriously, I don’t even know what to say. Every day, I’m sorry for all the hard times I put you through. A single mom in New York City is not easy. But I know you’re proud.”
Noah also thanked his teammates, fans and the game of basketball. How can you not love this guy.
