Timberwolves forward Kevin Garnett quietly persevered through pain this season, the discomfort apparently so serious that even coach Randy Wittman was surprised, and now Garnett might miss the rest of the season. The team announced about 90 minutes before Wednesday night’s tipoff against the Dallas Mavericks that Garnett is out indefinitely because of pain in his right quadriceps, a condition that hadn’t been disclosed previously. The announcement came fewer than 48 hours after the Wolves were eliminated from the race to make the Western Conference playoffs.”
