Before I was all like “Kobe Bryant should be on the cover of NBA 2K12 — and that it would be a great idea — and blah, blah, blah.” Well forget that noise. Yesterday 2K Sports revealed that they decided to go old school again with three variations of their next basketball title cover that will feature Larry Bird, Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson. Which is pretty much the best idea in basketball video game history.
The game will launched on October 4th and the Bird and Magic covers will be limited edition releases, so you better not sleep on them. Created by Adam Larson, who already has an impressive portfolio. The triple good covers could have you buying this game in threes.

The game will be available for Nintendo Wii, PC, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable and the Xbox 360.
