As it turns out, thankfully Marquis Daniels is going to be alright after a scary injury against the Orlando Magic had his family, team and fans concerned as he laid face down motionless on the court with a bruised spinal cord injury during Sunday’s game.
According to Mark Murphy of the Boston Herald, Celtics GM Danny Ainge expects Daniels to be back with the C’s in about 1-2 months from now, after he’s recovered and observed by team doctors. But other than that, Daniels is expected to make a full recovery.
“I saw him at the hospital,” said Ainge. “I think he was scared when he was out on the court, because he couldn’t move for a short period of time, so that scared him. But he’s had some issues with this before — some tingling in his body and arms. He had it last year in Orlando in Game 5. He’s had a couple of episodes throughout his career.”
Good to hear he’ll be okay! The injury occurred in the second quarter of the Magic vs. Celtics game when Daniels collided awkwardly into Gilbert Arenas and had his neck snap back. Get well Mr. Daniels!
