The late Guru (RIP) once said “If your voice ain’t dope then you need to [chill… chill… ].” He must have been taking about fellow Brooklyn native Ted Williams when he dropped that verse, because not only is Williams literally going from rags to riches due to his smooth voice, but he’s also getting a free house and all the Cavaliers access he can handle too.
Within a few days of 2011, the homeless Williams had the internet buzzing with his “golden radio voice” thanks to the Columbus Dispatch and when the Cavaliers got a chance to hear him, they offered him a full-time voiceover job plus a free home!
“The Cleveland Cavaliers just offered me a full-time job and a house! A house! A house!,” Williams exclaimed on radio station WNCI.”I’ve been out there about a year; I just didn’t know anything like this would ever happen,” Williams said earlier in the show. “There’s so many words. I’ve already been compared to [Scottish singing sensation] Susan Boyle … I’m just so happy.” According to Williams, local police called him “Radio man.”
Williams has also received offers from MTV, “The Simpsons” and “Entertainment Tonight,” amongst others. I love this story!!!
