Last night LeBron James tore the sleeves of his jersey during the Cavaliers nationally televised game against the Knicks and the Internet freaked out. Today LeBron explained why he did it.
“Every time I shoot, it feels like it’s just pulling right up underneath my arm,” James said back in March of 2014 while a member of the Miami Heat. “I already don’t have much room for error on my jump shot. It’s definitely not a good thing.” […] During the game, an NBA official said he wasn’t sure if a fine was warranted or not, saying, “It’s not exactly a normal occurrence.”
However being the diplomat he is, LeBron says he’ll wear the sleeved jerseys again — plus the league requires the Cavs to wear them at least three to six more times this season.
“If the fans love them, I love them,” he said, giving a diplomatic answer. “If our fans love the uniforms, I’ll wear them for 48 (minutes). I’m so used to the sleeveless cutoffs, the tank top. I’ve been playing in tank tops all my life.”
