Earl Lloyd, the first black player to break the color barrier in the NBA, passed away late last night at age 86. During his 10 year career Lloyd aka “The Big Cat” played for the Washington Capitols, Syracuse Nationals and Detroit Pistons where he later served as a coach. In 2003, Lloyd was inducted to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as a contributor and here is the memorable speech he gave.
