OKC Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook has been the best player in the league since the all-star break and he went nuts again last night. Scoring 21 points and dishing out a career-high 17 assists in an Oklahoma City win against the visiting Nuggets.
“I think it’s great not just for myself but good for the rest of my teammates,” Westbrook said of his playmaking. “I think they feel comfortable about their game. I can get mine and take shots when I have the opportunity. But I think it’s great for them to have open shots and open looks and feel great about their game. And as you see it works out for us.”
“I just want to see the scoreboard keep going up,” Westbrook said. “If the pass is there, make the pass. If not, score the ball. My job is to see how the game is going. If guys are putting two guys on me that means somebody’s open and that’s a part of my job.”
Expect #RussySeason to continue with Kevin Durant expected to miss five games.
