Golden State Warriors sharpshooter Stephen Curry showed why he got the most all-star votes. Dropping a season-high 51 points on the visiting Dallas Mavericks in a 128-114 victory. Curry nailed 10 three-pointers to help the Warriors rally back from a 22-point deficit in the first quarter.
“We’ve never seen better shooters than these guys — ever in this game,” Dallas coach Rick Carlisle said. “That’s how good they are. They’re not only great shooters, they’re great one-on-one players, too, and they can both play the total game.
“You’ve got two superstars here, and it’s a real task trying to keep them under control because they have such a quick-hitting game. Any little crevice of space and it’s going to be a shot up there.”
From pretty much any distance, added Carlisle. Indeed, some of Curry’s shots seemed to come from Mount Davis.
“These guys can shoot the ball easily out to 30 feet,” Carlisle said. “So you’ve got really 30 feet on to the baseline, and anywhere in that area is in play for a shot. Any shot, any touch is a green-light shot if they’re open.”
Curry’s backcourt mate Klay Thompson chipped in with 18 points in the Warriors big comeback win.
