Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving went full “Kyrie-diculous” dropping a career-high 55 points in a 99-94 win over the visiting Portland Trail Blazers.
“Our bigs are doing a great job of just coming in and screening in transition,” he said. “[They’re] being open and being willing screeners every single time down. It just makes my job a lot easier to come down and make an easy decision to either pull up or attack the rim or drop off to our bigs.”
“For me, it’s just about the intensity of the game and being out there with my teammates and them doing a great job of getting me open and setting screens,” Irving said. “I’m just happy we got the win.”
Irving’s 55 point total was also the most points scored by any player this season, one shy of LeBron James’ franchise record and was the area record. Kyrie-diculous indeed.
