The Phoenix Suns narrowly missed out on getting back to the NBA playoffs last year. After taking a positive step forward, they seem to be picking up right where they left off in the early going of the 2014-15 season.

That doesn’t guarantee a playoff trip in the competitive Western Conference, but a trio of elite guards and physical post play could give them enough balance to squeak into the post-season.

To appreciate their journey ahead, let’s take a look at their cheapest and most expensive games on the Suns schedule in December, while also analyzing those contests:

Cheapest – @ Washington Wizards (12/21/14) | Avg: $78.12 | Get-in: $10
Suns tickets return major value in this late December battle with the Wizards, which come in as their cheapest tickets of the month. Washington has quickly molded into a potential title contender and is quite strong at home, which could pose a problem for a defensively challenged Suns squad.

While John Wall gets all of the attention, the Wizards have a full cast of weapons, starting with veteran swing man Paul Pierce and young sharpshooter Bradley Beal on the outside, with Marcin Gortat and Nene Hilario holding things down in the paint. If the Suns are going to take this one on the road, their trio of guards (Goran Dragic, Isaiah Thomas and Eric Bledsoe) will have to be working cohesively at this point in the season.

Most Expensive – @ New York Knicks (12/20/14) | Avg: $264.53 | Get-in: $77
The Knicks aren’t very good right now, but that doesn’t tend to hurt the value of Knicks tickets at Madison Square Garden. In fact, the Suns being so solid only makes tickets to this showdown more valuable.

Phoenix will still have their hands full in this one, as no road contest can be taken lightly and Carmelo Anthony alone is enough to worry about. It’s also possible New York has the Triangle offense more down pat by the time this matchup rolls around. Phoenix does hold the edge on paper, though, as they’re the much more prolific offense. If they can force the Knicks to run, they should win with ease with Suns tickets from ScoreBig starting at just $77 for the game.
