It only took a day for Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson to prove he was worth the max-level extension deal he signed. With the visiting LA Lakers in town, Thompson poured in a career-high 41-points to lead the undefeated Warriors to a 127-104 victory over the Lakers. His backcourt partner Stephen Curry also had a great game scoring 31 points. Per the SF Chronicle:
“That is what’s exciting for us; this young backcourt is one that we’re going to be building around for the foreseeable future,” Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said. “We feel like they can both get a lot better, and so can our team. We didn’t play particularly well, but you just saw the talent that we have. That was enough.”
So far he’s worth every penny.
