It’s official. The Los Angeles Clippers named Doc Rivers as the Senior Vice President of Basketball Operations and head coach. The Clippers signed Rivers after the Boston Celtics agreed to release him from his contract in exchange for a first round pick in the 2015 NBA Draft as compensation.
“The reason I wanted this job when it was made available is because of what they had. I think they are an extremely talented team. At times last year, they were the best team. The question now is can we do it in the postseason?”
Rivers joins the Clippers after nine seasons with the Boston Celtics where he guiding them to a NBA Championship in the 2007-08 season.
