George Karl Named NBA Coach of the Year

NBA: Portland Trail Blazers at Denver Nuggets

George Karl was named the winner of the Red Auerbach NBA Coach of the Year award. This season Karl guided the Nuggets to a 57-25 (.695) record which was fourth-best in the league. Including a league-best 38-3 (.927) mark at home and the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference Playoffs.

In earning his first NBA Coach of the Year, Karl totaled 404 points, including 62 first-place votes, from a panel of 121 sportswriters and broadcasters throughout North America.
