Circa — a long time ago. This classic Nike spot stars the always entertaining Charles Barkley with a voice over by Chuck D of Public Enemy. Apparently, the plan Nike had was to team Chuck and Chuck together in one campaign and Michael Jordan with Flavour Flav in another. Unfortunately Flav got into some trouble with the law and Nike dropped Public Enemy from their plans.
As a result, Spike Lee as Mars Blackmon was the back up plan and the rest is history.
