Jason Kidd is heading to New York to play with the Knicks. At first it looked as if Kidd was committed to sticking with the Mavericks, but in a New York minute Kidd changed his mind and his zip code to join an improving Knicks squad.
The Knicks will likely sign Kidd using the “mini-midlevel” exception, which starts at $3.09 million. The most he could earn would be $9.69 million over three years.
If you ask me, getting Jason Kidd to mentor Jeremy Lin for $9 million seems like a far better idea than getting Steve Nash to do it for $25 million.
