The Knicks bench scoring just got a shot of Nitrous Oxide. It’s isn’t official yet, but JR Smith has decided spurn the offer by the Clippers to sign with the New York Knicks. A move that would reunite him with his former Nuggets teammate Carmelo Anthony.
Though the team said there was no deal yet, Smith wrote “New York Knicks it is!” Friday morning on his Twitter account.
The Knicks can’t reach a deal with him until his return from China is cleared by FIBA, basketball’s international governing body. All signs point to Mike D’Antoni still starting Landry Fields at the shooting guard. Veteran Renaldo Balkman was released by the Knicks to make the roster space necessary to sign JR Smith.
