I had an idea just how athletic JaVale McGee could be in an open run, but actually seeing McGee own the competition he faced at the free-flowing Nike Real Run tournament at the HAX in Los Angeles was way beyond my understanding. Combined with the growing skills of McGee if Blatche, Wall and Arenas can stay healthy the east surely headed for a shake up.
Due to his length and athleticism, McGee has a huge upside. No seven footer should be able to make the behind the back pass McGee makes at the 0:26 mark or the crossover he does at the 1:00 mark. He’s like a more athletic version of Marcus Camby with handles.
