The Nets Could Land Melo In A Four-Way Deal

//

There was Carmelo Anthony news yesterday, but I was all like “forget that.” I can’t remember where yesterdays rumours had him going, but it was somewhere that wasn’t Denver. Today’s rumor is that Melo might land in New Jersey if he agrees to sign an extension. No, that’s not Denver either.

Sources told ESPN.com that the deal, which has yet to be finalized, would send former All-Star point guard Devin Harris to Charlotte, with Bobcats forward Boris Diaw moving to Utah. The Bergen Record reported Friday afternoon that the Nets would also receive Bobcats guard D.J. Augustin, with New Jersey’s Jarvis Hayes accompanying Harris to Charlotte, Nets swingman Quinton Ross going to Utah and Denver landing a 1-to-7 protected first-round pick in 2012 that New Jersey recently received from Golden State.

Sure Mr. Sources, I’ll believe it when I see it. Melo wants the New York Knicks like a fat kid wants a cupcake and the Nets are still in New Jersey and are still the Nets. If Melo sticks this out, eventually he’ll force the Nuggets to deal him to Manhattan and this will be all over with. The only question is, just how bad does Anthony really want out of Denver. More Melo news to come, I’m sure of it.
