Remember the first time Michael Jordan retired from basketball in 19-naughty-3 to play baseball for the Chicago White Sox and the New York Knicks still couldn’t capitalize on winning a championship?
Well, Ron Shelton the dude famous for giving us “Bull Durham” and “White Men Can’t Jump“, directed one of those fancy ESPN 30 for 30 pieces and the Ronster decided to revisit the time when Jordan was known as an outfielder playing in the minor leagues for some young manager guy named Terry Francona in Birmingham, Alabama taking the bus. Look out for the entire “Jordan Rides the Bus” video by Ron Shelton starting August 26 on ESPN 2.
After the jump, see why Sports Illustrated can’t do any Michael Jordan thingys.
